Cyber Sentinel Innovators (CSI–Forge) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to expanding access, advancing equity, and fueling innovation in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. Sebrena Adkins, a retired Information Systems Analyst and current Doctoral candidate with more than three decades of public-sector leadership, founded and established CSI–Forge to create meaningful pathways for individuals from communities often overlooked in technology. My vision is to build a bridge between potential and opportunity — empowering people to thrive in the digital economy, regardless of their background or prior exposure to technology. At CSI–Forge, we define cybersecurity as a proactive and continuous process of safeguarding computers, networks, and data from breaches, damage, attacks, and unauthorized access. As innovators, our practice extends beyond defense — it encompasses detecting emerging threats, continuously monitoring systems, securing diverse devices, and developing resilient frameworks to ensure that our clients’ information remains protected and inviolable. At CSI–Forge, we believe that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Our mission is to close that gap by providing hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world technology access. We focus on tapping into the hidden talent within our communities — individuals who may have never imagined a career in technology or cybersecurity but possess the creativity, discipline, and curiosity needed to excel. By engaging local neighborhoods, schools, and community organizations, we uncover and cultivate that potential, transforming untapped aptitude into professional capability. Through direct education, workforce development programs, and mentorship, CSI–Forge bridges the divide between ambition and achievement. We equip both aspiring professionals and seasoned practitioners with the skills, tools, and confidence to grow, lead, and innovate in an ever-evolving technological landscape. Our vision is not only to protect the digital world but also to empower communities to take part in building it — creating a future where cybersecurity and technology careers are accessible, attainable, and inclusive for all.
